Rod Girvan - Girvan Engineering.

" We are very pleased with the standard of Apprentices the College has recruited. We feel there are some real solutions being provided in a very tight labour market. It is great to see our next generation engaging eagerly with Industry. The College has provided flexible options to enable our school-based apprentice to assimilate from the classroom to the workshop with minimal disruption.

The staff are to be applauded for their no nonsense approach and steady guiding hands. All of the students including our own appear keen, polite and well presented. We look forward to future dealings with the College. "

Russell Standley – Manager – RLS Data & Electrical

" From the first time I heard about the concept of the College, I was impressed with the idea of giving young people the ability to complete Year 12 whilst initiating there trade. From an employer’s point of view - it is great to work with young people who know what they want and are committed to their trade.

There has, and is a lot of talk about skill shortages and many employers out there have been looking for an answer. The way I see it is that the inception of the College is working toward the solution – helping companies not getting lost in the problem. As an industry we have to look to where our next generation of tradespeople are coming from.

RLS has taken an active role in employing apprentices, and is pleased to have the opportunity of employing several Australian School-based Apprentices as Electricians through the College.

We have found the quality of the young people we have employed very capable and they have certainly hit the ground running due to having particular insight in to the varying facets of the electrical industry prior to there commencement with us.

While we will continue to employ traditional apprentices, we can also see a great relationship being developed with the College and will be looking to continue to employ students of the College. "
